Senior Sales Executive

Generous Salary Uncapped OTE

Portman Asset Finance, an expanding Asset Finance specialist based in Northamptonshire, is looking to recruit a high-performing Senior Sales Executive (Sales Broker), based in our Brackmills office, to join our team on our Fast-Track Sales Manager programme. With a base salary of £50,000-£60,000 dependent on experience, and a first year OTE of £85,000-£100,000 (our OTE is uncapped as well), the role at Portman Asset Finance, we believe, offers a great opportunity for an individual to develop their Sales career within an environment that is financially rewarding.

Stemming from an experienced Sales background, we are looking for a commercially strong and sales-motivated individual to focus on handling inbound leads for new clients as well as performing outbound sales processes for existing/potential clients. Responsible for developing incoming leads, the Senior Sales Executive will explore and investigate client circumstances with a view to progressing to a commercially-viable finance solution; key to the role is working closely with our clients to understand their needs and partnering with them to select appropriate finance packages in a consultative manner (full training is given on all our finance solutions services to equip you with all the necessary tools and knowledge). In addition to this, the Senior Sales Executive will also conduct outbound activity on clients who have previously been in contact with Portman, positioning our solutions effectively to open new opportunities and win new business.

Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for someone who excels in high-pressure environments, has a relentless desire to be the best, and would relish the opportunity to work in the pure meritocracy which Portman Asset Finance offers. As our commitment to you from a development perspective, our Fast Track programme will provide you with:

  • Inhouse Training from our Sales Director and Managing Director and the opportunity to complete an LIBF Diploma in Asset Finance;
  • An 18 month progression pathway into a Sales Manager role with the opportunity to build and manage a team upon completion; and
  • Year 2 OTE of £125,000, Year 3 OTE of £150,000.

 An overview of the main duties has been provided below:

  • Provide a seamless sales service to new clients via inbound channels from initial enquiry through to sales closure;
  • Conduct outbound sales activity to establish rapport and interest within potential new clients, ultimately building a pipeline and securing new business wins;
  • With a customer-centric approach, progress clients through our sales process, including gathering sales intelligence and objection handling, as well as exploring and promoting up-sell and cross-sell opportunities;
  • Write and prepare proposal documentation and credit applications, including working with clients to gather appropriate financial and non-financial paperwork;
  • Work closely with our panel of lenders to secure client finance, documenting key actions and tasks throughout;
  • Record all sales activity in our CRM; and
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of live opportunities.

Please note, this role will be based 5 days a week at our Head Office in Brackmills.

Skillset, Experience & Qualifications

  • Strong sales experience (ideally in a Business-to-Business environment) is essential alongside a track record in achieving KPIs;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely whilst building rapport and trust;
  • Customer-centric, resilient and entrepreneurial approach to sales; understanding clients needs and drivers with the ability to handle objections and remove barriers;
  • Positive and engaging telephone manner;
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills with experience of using a CRM;
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines; 
  • Strong organisational skills with a high attention to detail; 
  • Ability to prioritise and handle multiple tasks at any given time; 
  • Pro-active and enthusiastic with a can do attitude; 
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to assess client circumstances; and
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as being a team player.
