Commercial Finance Broker

Here at Portman Asset Finance we are looking for Senior Sales Professionals and Managers to join our growing sales team. If you are a money-motivated sales hunter-closer, we can provide you with a platform for unparalleled earnings in our dynamic and truly meritocratic team.

Working in the Commercial Finance industry, you’ll have the opportunity to train and work directly with the Managing Director, Sales Director and Director of Strategy and Operations as we look to develop you on our 18-month Fast Track Manager Programme.

For this position, the key to success is being fast-paced, extremely self-motivated and commercially aware with strong business acumen. Previous experience of working in either Asset Finance or Brokerage is not required – our induction and onboarding programme will equip you with all the product knowledge needed (we’re also happy to support you in obtaining an LIBF Diploma in Asset Finance should you wish). Communication skills are paramount as a typical day could see you speaking to a Restaurant owner regarding a £20k finance facility for their new commercial kitchen followed by a £15million turnover business requiring a £500k fleet of new vehicles.

As you progress through our Fast Track Manager Programme you’ll have the opportunity to mentor, lead and manage your own team of Sales Executives, helping others achieve success in a Commercial Finance Broker role with the added benefit of receiving override commission on earnings achieved by your team.

In terms of day-to-day activity, the role will involve consultatively prospecting and generating new business from a mix of warm leads (generated by our in-house marketing and outbound call teams) and prospecting yourself. With a view to forging long-term relationships, being able to understand clients’ key needs and drivers is vital to identifying the right finance solutions to add true value. On top of this, you will need to be adept and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where you could be managing 30-40 sales processes at different stages simultaneously (with full back-office support provided).
